Antenna Theory and Computational Electromagnetics Lab

Antenna Theory and Computational Electromagnetics Lab along with its Laboratory of Antenna Technology provides the following scope of works and services:

  1. Design, construction of prototypes and measurement of antenna circuit and field parameters, for various radiocommunication systems, such as:
    • radio and television,
    • wireless communications (WLAN, WiMAx, etc.),
    • cellular telephones,
    • radionavigation and radiolocation.
  2. Antenna modeling, analysis and synthesis:
    • computer simulations
  3. Design and measurements of:
    • antenna matching circuits,
    • supply networks,
    • control circuits for phased antenna systems.
  4. Radio wave propagation research
    • terrestrial radiocommunication systems (both fixed and mobile): assessment of radiotelephone network coverage, definition of safety zones, station distribution coordination,
    • satellite communication and navigation systems: satellite link modeling, assessment of signal reception quality.

PTAiEMO carries out scientific as well R&D works for national administration authorities, local government institutions as well as various Polish and foreign businesses.

Cooperation with many research institutions (such as e.g. P.I.T. - Telecommunications Research Institute, National Institute of Telecommunications etc.) and telecommunications Companies (such as e.g. Polish National Telephone Operator - 'Telekomunikacja Polska', Polish National Radio or the cellular phone operators, etc.) allows for continuous development of new telecommunication and radiocommunication solutions, development and analysis of growth strategies. Our current accomplishments include a few dozen papers pertaining to measurements and design of new antenna solutions for various radiocommunication systems.

PTAiEMO actively participate in European research programs, like:

  • COST 316/06 "Antenna Systems & Sensors for Information Society Technologies " (ASSIST) (IC 0603)
  • COST 297: "High Altitude Platforms for Communications and Other Services"

Results of both theoretical and applied research works performed by PTAEMO employees are published in various national and international periodicals as well as presented at national and international conferences. Besides the purely scientific research, PTAiEMO are also actively involved in various forms of didactic activities.
